Liisa D. Carlson – DVM


Liisa D. Carlson, D.V.M., received her veterinary medical degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and was a member of the Veterinary Honor Society Phi Zeta. In 1988, Dr. Carlson returned to Springfield to join her father, Dr. Delbert Carlson, at the Carlson Veterinary Wellness Center. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Southwestern Veterinary Medical Association, and a founding member of the Emergency Clinics of Southwest Missouri.

Dr. Carlson is also the author/co-author of the top selling book series: The Dog Owners Home Veterinary Handbook and the Cat owners Home Veterinary Handbook which is available at the office or at Amazon.com.

Megan – RVT, Trainer

A 2014 graduate of the veterinary technician program at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO. Enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family, and her husband, Dusty. Megan has a dog, named “Dixie”, and a pet guinea pig named “Tundra”.

Kristina – RVT

Graduated in May 2010 from Crowder College with a AAS in Veterinary Technology, and went on to receive my state license that October. Five years of experience with emergency care and five years experience dedicated to surgery under a board certified surgeon, before joining Carlson Veterinary Wellness Center. Three fur kids, spends a lot of free time and love more than anything include two cats named Noah and Annabelle, and an Australian Shepherd named Jazzmine. Spends her free time with family, two nieces, friends, and enjoys reading. Jazzmine is also a therapy dog and we spend time doing during different things with our group.

Christie – Veterinary Assistant

Christie has been with us since 2002. she has more pets than we are able to list in this small amount of space. She has a kind heart and a strong compassion towards caring for animals, this is why she has been such as good fit for our clinic for so many years!

Shelby – Veterinary Assistant

Shelby has been working in the animal care world for 5 years. She loves learning new things and taking care of animals! She has 2 dogs at home Brantley and Nova.

Other than being a great “Vet Assistant”, Shelby is also serving our country in the Army Reserves. Be sure to thank her for serving our country the next time you’re in!
