Liisa D. Carlson – DVM


Liisa D. Carlson, D.V.M., received her veterinary medical degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and was a member of the Veterinary Honor Society Phi Zeta. In 1988, Dr. Carlson returned to Springfield to join her father, Dr. Delbert Carlson, at the Spring Valley Veterinary Hospital West. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Southwestern Veterinary Medical Association, and a founding member of the Emergency Clinics of Southwest Missouri.

Dr. Carlson is also the author/co-author of the top selling book series: The Dog Owners Home Veterinary Handbook and the Cat owners Home Veterinary Handbook which is available at the office or at Amazon.com.

Dr. Rosana Segovia – Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Segovia moved to the United States from Ecuador in 2008. Dr. Segovia was in Molecular Biology research before starting in the Veterinary field. Dr. Segovia graduated from Veterinary Technology school in 2013, and immediately started Veterinary School at the Ohio State University where she graduated in 2017. Dr. Segovia’s favorite animals include cats and horses. Dr. Segovia doesn’t have any horses in the family yet; but does care for three cats in her home. Dr. Segovia’s hobbies are entertaining her baby boy, and spending time with her husband.

Amy Cochran – Office Manager

Amy has been in the Veterinary field for twenty plus years, and has worked in most areas of the Veterinary hospital. Amy has always loved being a part of a veterinary team and working to help pets live a longer, happier life. Amy is a native to the Springfield area and and resides in Springfield with her husband, Kenny their five children and one grandbaby. Amy has large fur family also, two horses, three dogs and a cat.
